Conservatoire de Musique de Lyon
That building was first inhabited by the sisters of the "Sainte-Elisabeth des deux amants" convent. Then later Claude Bourgelat installed there the first vetenary school in France in 1795. In 1988, the building, that was completely neglected, was renovated and it is now used by the Lyon Danse and Music academy.

Les greniers d'Abondance
The "greniers d'abondance" (abondance storehouses) were built between 1722 and 1728; the town councillors wanted to protect the town of Lyon from the speculation on the wheat price. That's why they decided to build that giant storehouse designed by Bertand de la Vaure. In 1763, it was turned into an artillery warehouse. In 1985, it is completely renovated and it houses the DRAC administration and a part of the Lyon Danse and Music academy.
Les Subsistances
The "Sainte-Marie des chaînes" was built at the beginning of the XVIIth century. Even if that convent was soon in financial, it remained ruled by the Visitation order until 1789. In 1807, it was turned into military barracks that were used to cook and to store the iron rations for the army. That 's how this building gets its name: "Subsitances militaires" (Military supplies) in1941. In 1995, it was given back to the city of Lyon that turned it into a place dedicated to the art creation.
