Saint Polycarpe church
The Saint Polycarpe church, that appears suddently between the high Croix Rousse buildings, is always a surprise for the walkers...
This church was erected at first for the Oratorians monks in Lyon in 1670, its facade was built later by the architect Toussaint Loyer in 1756.
It became a parish church in 1791, and was damaged during the French Revolution (you still can see the cannonballs).
